after the group signed an agreement with a local property developing firm, RM-Africa Property Consultants, to set up a residential property franchise in Zimbabwe.
The partnership will see the local company operating under Rawson Properties.
RM-Africa managing director Mr Richard Matengambiri said the development would give them an access to advanced ICT systems, marketing systems, infrastructure and operational standards.
“Working under an established brand like the Rawson Group gives us an opportunity to sell properties in South Africa as well as sourcing customers in South Africa who want to buy properties in Zimbabwe.
“This is an opportunity to improve our business, bring in efficiency and greater satisfaction through franchise development,” he said.
He also said the partnership would also allow the company full access to training and professional development to staff and management.
Mr Matengambiri reiterated that if the franchise succeeds then it would demonstrate the capability of Zimbabwe to do business with the international community.
RM-Africa was founded in 2006 and is well-established property sales and marketing group that sells approximately 120 homes annually, mainly around Harare. He said currently, they are employing seven estate agents and expect to take on a further three next year.
Rawson Properties is not the only South African property company represented in Zimbabwe.
Rawson Property Group managing director Mr Tony Clarke said if everything goes according to plan the company will use this breakthrough to establish a network of franchises in other African countries, especially those now showing strong growth potential.
