Sables’ easy assignment

After falling to Hong Kong 22-7 on Saturday and Belgium 11-28 on Tuesday night, the Sables are hoping to come out with a win over the hosts who have also lost two games to the same teams.

The United Arab Emirates suffered a 3-94 hiding to Belgium before suffering a 6-51 loss at the hands of defending champions Hong Kong.

The UAE last week entered the International Rugby Board world rankings with a rating of 30.00 points after becoming a full member Union and all they could manage was a penalty in their first Test.

In fact, all their points so far have come off the boot as they scored two penalties in their second game against Hong Kong, making them by far the weakest team in the competition that comes to an end today.

Sables’ forward, Biselele Tshamala, knows that they have not been at their best and will not want to return home winless. We have not played the worst neither have we played the best of rugby, though there is a lot of positive to be taken from the games themselves.

“We held the lead to half-time in both games and we failed to finish off our opposition in the second half and that came to bite us back hence conceding defeat in both matches.

“Looking forward to the game on Friday (today), morale in camp is still high on ending the tour on a positive note by beating the host nation UAE who have also lost both their games,” said the former Zimbabwe Under-20 eighth-man. Novice Sables backliner, Graham Kaulback, who earned his first cap has been enjoying time on the field and wants to put up a polished act today. I am enjoying the playing time, hopefully we finish on a positive note in the final game Just want to do the best I can for the team firstly and for myself. There have been passages of good play so as a team we want to combine it all and finish strongly, pride, leave holding our flag up high.

“Running on for my first cap was definitely my best moment so far and that awesome,” said the Cheetahs player.
