SABLES vice-captain Tichafara Makwanya says Namibia’s victory over Russia last week has piled the pressure on his side ahead of their Africa Cup Group A1 fixture in Windhoek next month.
Namibia beat Russia 39-19.
The Sables beat Kenya and Tunisia and need a win over Namibia to be crowned champions.
“I was not entirely impressed with with our performances in both games (against Kenya and Tunisia) although we won,” said Makwanya.
“We could have done better, our performance was still not good. There are a number of areas which need improvement.
“Namibia played Russia last weekend and beat them convincingly. It gives us a lot of homework. Our conversion rate is poor and if we are looking at beating teams like Namibia then we need to up it to about 100 percent so I think we should do better.
“We need to play a perfect game. We played well in the first minutes of the previous match, we need to play 80 minutes of good rugby to achieve positive results.”
The Sables entered day two of their training at Prince Edward School yesterday.
Team manager Sebastian Garikai said the two days of training were enough for the Sables right now.
“Our training schedule is good, we need to keep the league going. That is why our players are training for two days,” said Garikai.
