Sacco puts finishing touches on album No. 3

Chimanimani Arts Festival, Sacco said the album was ready, and will be on the market soon.
The album — his third — features tracks such as “Vana veZimbabwe”, “Magamba”, “Gara Ndichauya”, “Amai”, Pasichigare”, “Fambai Naye” and “Tendawo”.
In his latest offering, Sacco  appeals to employers to give the workers a significant  slice of the cake and cushion them from hardships.
Sacco and Radiation Band were among scores  of musicians who thrilled fans at the two-day festival. His previous albums are “Zvichapera” and “Chenjera”.
Radiation Band is made up of Sacco as the lead vocalist, his wife Mercy Vhiki on vocals and other band members. Sacco is probably the only white musician who has managed to identify with the plight of the peasant and the worker in his musical works.
The Chimanimani-based artiste champions the plight of the workers who are finding it difficult to make ends meet with their meagre salaries. He also tackles colonial injustices through his songs and openly supports programmes such as the land reform exercise.
Sacco came to prominence in 2000 after the commencement of the land reform programme by the Government.
In one of his songs, he openly attacks the white hegemony in the distribution of resources such as the land.
Sacco fell in love with the guitar when he was 11 years old and attending Kwirire Primary School. He went on to do his secondary education at Nyahonde Learning Centre and at all these schools he was a good Shona student.
Sacco took up music seriously together with his Radiation Band in 1999 when they competed in the United Nations Development Programme talent search competition called Artistes Against Poverty.
Sacco and Radiation Band emerged as the winners in the Manicaland Province and at the national finals they emerged a credible third.
From that time he has never looked back.
