SADC Council of Ministers’ meeting set for next week

The SADC Council of Ministers will convene for an ordinary session next week, hosted by Foreign Affairs and International Trade Minister Professor Amon Murwira, the current chairperson of the Council.

The Ordinary SADC Council of Ministers will be preceded by the meetings of the SADC Senior Officials who will review the mid-term implementation of the SADC Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (RISDP 2020-2030) today and tomorrow.

The SADC Standing Committee of Senior Officials will meet on Thursday and Friday, while the meeting of the Finance Committee will be convened on Saturday.

Next week’s Council of Ministers meeting will review the SADC Annual Corporate Plan and Budget for the 2025/26 financial year in support of key regional priorities outlined in the SADC RISDP (2020-2030).

The Council consists of Ministers from each of the 16 SADC Member States, usually from the

Ministries responsible for Foreign Affairs and International Relations, Economic Planning Finance or Trade.

It meets twice a year in March and August
