THE Southern African Development Community (Sadc) will convene its 8th Annual Industrialisation Week (SIW) from July 28 to August 1, 2025 in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

The regional event will take place at the Novotel Convention and Spa.

It will be held under the theme: “Advancing Industrialisation, Agricultural Transformation, and Energy Transition for a Resilient Sadc.”

Organised by the Sadc Secretariat in collaboration with the Government of Madagascar, the Syndicat des Industries Madagascar (SIM), and the Sadc Business Council, the event will gather key stakeholders from across the region to promote industrial cooperation and economic resilience.

“This year’s theme speaks to the heart of our region’s development priorities,” said Dr Elias Magosi, Sadc Executive Secretary.

“We must industrialise in a way that is sustainable and inclusive, especially by transforming agriculture and accelerating the shift to clean energy.”

The week-long forum will feature exhibitions, policy dialogues, business-to-business engagements, and investment forums aimed at strengthening regional value chains and promoting intra-regional trade.

According to Madagascar’s Minister of Industry and Trade, Mr Haja Ralison, hosting the event is a strategic opportunity for the island nation.

“Madagascar is proud to welcome the Sadc Industrialisation Week. This is a chance to showcase our potential and deepen collaboration with regional partners,” Mr Ralison said.
