THE Southern African Development Community (SADC) is set to hold an Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Government to deliberate on the deteriorating security situation in eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade spokesperson Mr Levi Mugejo confirmed the development.

“We are fervently making preparations for the meeting,” said Mr Mugejo. The ministry, he said, will release a statement later on Wednesday. The SADC region has expressed concern after rebel group M23 captured the city of Goma.
