Saintfloew: Damned if he attended, damned if he didn’t attend

SAINTFLOEW asked to be left out of the nominees of the 2023 Zim Hip Hop Awards, but that has not ended the controversy over the issue.

Some of his fans are now not happy that he did not attend the awards ceremony held at the weekend.

While one can understand his decision to stay away from the ceremony given that he had divorced his name from the event, his non-appearance has provoked some controversy.

It appears Saintfloew thrust himself into a situation where he was never going to win when it comes to these awards.

If he had attended the show, it’s also likely that he would have been bombarded with negative messages for endorsing something which he had divorced himself from.

But, he knows these are the challenges that come with his industry.

Controversial social media figure, Tatelicious, is one of those who are expressing their disappointment.

“I can’t believe Saintfloew didn’t show up (for) the awards.

“What a let-down,” said Tatelicious.

Zim Hip Hop Awards released a statement clarifying that Saintfloew requested not to be included in the event.

The statement read:

“Please be advised, after releasing the 2023 nominees, Saintfloew requested to be removed from the nominees list.

“As a brand, we must respect an artist’s wish or request.

“There have been many versions on this issue thus he was not part of the event or on the nominees list.”
