MISS Universe Zimbabwe Sakhile Dube has undoubtedly earned respect, admiration, and adoration from her compatriots and fans around the world for her strong performance in the Miss Universe contest in Mexico.
The journey to the Miss Universe stage is not easy, and for Sakhile to have made it into the top 30 is an incredible accomplishment. She has set an excellent example for young girls, showing them that anything is possible with hard work, determination, and confidence.
Throughout the competition, Sakhile remained poised, confident, and graceful, representing our country with dignity and pride. Sakhile has proved that she is more than just a pretty face by emphasising the need for quality universal access to quality medical care and for women to have access to education and equal opportunities. Her advocacy for women’s rights and empowerment is inspiring, and we hope it continues to resonate with people, especially young women.
Apart from her intelligence, Sakhile’s beauty shone through on the Miss Universe stage. Her stunning evening gown showcased her sense of style, elegance, and sophistication, while her swimsuit appearance exhibited her natural beauty.
Moreover, her national costume in the preliminary stage was a standout, as it captured the essence of Zimbabwe’s heritage in a unique and unforgettable manner. Zimbabweans from all over the world were thrilled to see the bateleur eagle (chapungu) and the pyramid symbolising the ancient Great Zimbabwe ruins on display for the world to see. Her majestic costume was evidence of Zimbabwe’s rich history and culture and will remain etched in the minds of designers worldwide. Her costume is undoubtedly a work of art.
We are proud of Sakhile and the way she represented us on the global stage. She has shown that we have natural beauty, intelligence, talent, and grace. Even though the adjudicators did not place our queen in the top 10, to us she is a winner. She represented our country with grace and poise, not just in the interview round but also in the way she interacted with contestants from other countries. She proved to the world that Zimbabwe has an abundance of beauty, intelligence, and talent.
We also congratulate Sakhile’s team for their work in preparing her for the Miss Universe competition. Their dedication, hard work, and professionalism were evident throughout the entire process, and they have played a significant role in Sakhile’s success. We appreciate their efforts in showcasing the best of Zimbabwe, and we are grateful for their contributions to raising the country’s profile on the global stage.
