BUDDING author and former junior member of parliament Tererayi Chakanyuka has authored a book titled “The Man From Mabvuku”, which focuses on the life of Mr Scott Sakupwanya.
The book was recently handed over to the businessman-cum-politician and is set to be officially unveiled to the public.
Chakanyuka, a youth from Mabvuku, said he is heavily inspired by Mr Sakupwanya’s success story, hence he decided to write the book.
“I’m inspired by Scott, and his background as a boy who grew up in Mabvuku to become a multi-millionaire despite his poor background. He broke barriers,” said the author.
Chakanyuka became a junior member of Parliament in 2015. The author is the founder of a philanthropic organisation called Heal the World.
The book, the 25-year-old philanthropist said, motivates youths to work hard and shun social ills.
“The book encourages youths to desist from drugs, and follow the path of our leaders like Scott, who has a history of growing up in the ghetto but never took drugs,” said Chakanyuka.
“I am also a youth who grew up in Mabvuku and I am inspired by the success story of Scott. He has made me believe in myself. Because of his success. I now believe nothing is impossible. I am also motivated by his charity work; he is doing great things in Mabvuku and in many other parts of the country.”
Mr Sakupwanya told The Sunday Mail Society he was aware of the book and that it captured his life story.
“I know about the book and this is the real story of my life written by my younger brother Tererayi,” said Mr Sakupwanya in an interview. “The Man From Mabvuku” recounts the stages Mr Sakupwanya went through before becoming a business tycoon and politician, who now employs over 4 000 people.
