Sally Mugabe Central Hospital honours dedicated retirees

Sally Mugabe Central Hospital has held a special ceremony to honour 17 dedicated retirees who have spent more than three decades serving the healthcare needs of the community.

The retirees, who have worked tirelessly to improve the health and well-being of others, were celebrated with gratitude and joy.

Colleagues, family members and sponsors including Impala Car Hire, Doves and Schweppes joined the festivities.

The sponsors provided hampers as tokens of appreciation for the retirees’ invaluable contributions.

Dr Nortburg Chifamba, the hospital’s acting chief medical officer praised the retirees for their unwavering commitment and resilience.

“Your commitment to our community’s well-being is an inspiration. The hospital’s success is built on your foundation, and your legacy will continue to inspire future generations,” she said.

The retirees, who held various positions within the hospital, were visibly moved as they received their hampers.

Mr Ephraim Muzumara, a long-serving administrative staff member, expressed his deep gratitude to the hospital and the sponsors.

“We have given our all to this hospital and the people of Harare. It is an honour to receive such recognition,” he said

Mrs Judith Mbidzo was also grateful said: “Being part of this institution has been a rewarding experience. I have seen the hospital grow and I am proud to have been part of that journey.”

Mrs Loveness Kunaka-Banhwe who spoke on behalf of her husband, Simeon said: “My husband would have been deeply honored to be here today. We both gave our hearts to this hospital and it is wonderful to know that his legacy lives on.”

The ceremony was a heartfelt tribute to the retirees celebrating their dedication and recognising their significant impact on the hospital and the community.
