THE Salvation Army Church, Dangamvura corps senior choir, shrugged off stiff competition to come out tops and beating three other choirs in the provincial choir contest held last weekend in Dangamvura.Dangamvura Corps out staged stubborn opponents Mutare Temple, Mutare city and Chikanga corps as well as the same opponents in the Timbrels contest held at the same day.

The senior choir entourage will be looking forward to consolidate their supremacy in the Zimbabwe Territorial Championship to be held in Harare tomorrow (Saturday).

Dangamvura Corps who are the reigning territorial champions will square off with the church’s regional corps across the country in a contest that starts at 10 am.

In an interview, one of the seasoned choristers from the Dangamvura camp, Nimrod Matungwana, said they were looking forward to defend their title and raise the Dangamvura and Manicaland flags high when they face rather tougher opponents from across Zimbabwe.
“The morale in camp is high. We are ready for the contest. We know it will not be easy battling it out against some of the finest groups in the country.

“Defending will be very difficult but we are ready for the challenge. We just want to do our best and we hope to be a good representative,” he said.
