Samaita to support ‘Young Igwe’

immensely to the rise of the late Murozvi Mukuru (Tongai Moyo) since 1996. He was free to visit me for advice and we worked together until his death. Peter is like a son to me. I am going to do whatever it takes to help him and the whole Utakataka Express. He will get better with age and all he needs is our support,” Samaita said.

He claims that he was the brains behind Dhewa’s songs on his last album.

There have been reports, which he has since denied,  that he wanted to snub Peter’s album launch.

“I have big plans for the young man, lots of surprises and he shouldn’t feel threatened whatsoever.

“I actually delayed dates of my album release to give Peter a chance to launch his album first. He is going to feature on an album that I am going to release later this year,” he said.

Samaita said he decided to record his first album and dedicated it to the late Dhewa.

Peter yesterday confirmed that Samaita had shown interest in working with him and said he hoped their relationship would yield positive results.

Peter has been finding it hard to fill in his father’s shoes but has silenced critics with the release of  his new album “Mushonga Mukuru”.
