tour of Europe and the United States.
It will be indeed a special Sunday for the patrons of the joint and Tuku’s legions of fans who will be treated to both good music and a dose of local and international soccer matches that would be beamed from Pamuzinda’s array of state-of-the-art television sets that are dotted around the complex.
Apart from the screening of the NetOne semi-final matches between Caps United and FC Platinum, Chicken Inn and Monomotapa that will be played in Zvishavane, fans would also have the opportunity to watch English Premier League football matches and the FA Cup match, where Manchester United will battle for honours with Chelsea.
Come to think of it, even the kids will have something to smile about as they will also be entertained by Ajigija, burning out extra calories on the jumping castles, while their parents would be glued to the flat screens or dancing to the sounds of contemporary beat from Munya Mataruse, some sungura flavour from Peter Moyo and the music of Tuku.
But there is no doubt all eyes would be on the trio’s performance, when they get on stage to entertain the crowds – albeit in different ways.
With Munya and Peter supporting the show, Tuku is expected to take his fans down memory lane with a number of yesteryear hits, before he serenades fans with hits from his latest offering “Sarawoga” from where the hit “Watitsvata” is taken.
The beauty about Tuku’s performance is that once he gets his mind to his work, he will not shortchange his fans because he can exhibit fancy footwork, sings very well and also plays the guitar with finesse.
His beat and type of music he plays transcends social and political borders, making him one of the revered African musicians, who are in the league of Salif Keita, Ismael Lo and Hugh Masekela.
He must be one of the very few musicians who have a beat named after him.
In an interview, show organiser Tawanda Chiraga of Pamuzinda Highway Xscape, said everything was ready for the show.
“It will be a family day with a difference; we want to cater for everyone, regardless of age and aspirations. We will have it all under one roof, from football right up to music,” he said.
