SA’s Benjamin Dube to attend album launch

in gospel music circles  having started out in 1986 when he recorded a single, “Holy Spirit”, which was a cross-over hit song and chart buster on local radio stations and sold over 25 000 units in the year of its release in South Africa alone.

Tembalami said he invited Pastor Dube because he was inspired by his work.
“Songs from his latest album will strengthen the feeble, reinvigorate the weary and stir the lethargic.
“Wherever he goes, Pastor Dube gives hope to the hopeless and inspires people, so that is the reason I invited him,” he said.

Talking about his album, Tembalami said it  was a health kit for all Christians.
“The Faith Aid Kit is a clarion call for all people to embrace their potential and spur our nation to progress.

“The album is a dose of refreshing inspiration to weary people. I have collaborated with Machanic Manyeruke, Sebastian Magacha and Mudiwa Mutandwa among others,” he said. A gospel concert has also been organised to help the underprivileged.

“The unique thing about the concert is the fact that the proceeds will go to further the humanitarian aid project I am involved in. I have a humanitarian project called ‘The Mothers of Hurungwe’.”

The “Mothers of Hurungwe” is a poverty alleviation project that helps with providing equity and administration training for women in Hurungwe.

“Some of the proceeds will go to the Cancer Association of Zimbabwe for which I am a patron,” he said.
Apart from that the musician is involved in a number of projects to inspire people and develop communities.

However, what will be of interest to gospel lovers is seeing Pastor Dube in action. The vibrant church leader commands a huge fan base in the country.

Pastor Dube is the owner of Dube Connection, a music label licensed to Sony and Spirit Music.
Through the label he employs his other aptitudes as songwriter, author and producer, discovering and developing young talent.
