CELEBRATED Zimdancehall producer, Samcris, has combined forces with fellow producer Simplesolid on a riddim named ‘‘Royal Palace’’.

An array of chanters have converged under one roof to prepare songs meant to promote the genre and forge unity.

In an interview, Simplesolid said the aim is to market the Zimdancehall genre.

“Zim dancehall haife yakafa as long as we are there. We have started the year on a high note and by combining forces with Samcris, we are producing a hybrid riddim.

“It’s work in progress and we urge artistes to come in their numbers so that we produce a master-class project.

“So far we have more than 20 chanters who have put their voices on this riddim and I promise you we have hits.

“Our aim is to continue putting our genre on the map and also safeguard the legacy of the most sought-after genre,” he said.

“Lives of many have been changed by music and we make sure we give both upcoming as well as seasoned artistes a platform to showcase their talent.

“We give them the direction and the sound, although many tend to forget where they came from when their flowers start to bloom.

“We want to raise to our flag high through music and also to become distinguished from other countries through our Zimdancehall genre which I believe has surpassed other genres in our country.”

Similar sentiments were echoed by Samcris.

“Zimdancehall is in safe hands and we will continue working hard.

“We are facing challenges of electricity and have been forced to reschedule our studio times to midnight sessions.

“We may as well call for assistance as this situation is affecting every part of the country.

“We also ask for our local radio stations to continue giving us slots to market our genre.

“Zimdancehall has a huge following and if we are given a fair share of airplay, we can change lives through music,” he said.

Samcris also encouraged upcoming artists to believe in themselves.

“Don’t lose hope, the sky is the limit. Keep on working hard and you will be rewarded for your perseverance.

“If you want to be a successful person there is no room for laziness.”

So far, top chanters like Seh Calaz, Mostaff, Uncle Epatan, Ndunge Yut and Van Choga have already put their voices into this riddim.
