This is Ndebele’s second child after Nkanyiso (2), who was named after his father, Nkanyiso Sibindi. In an interview with Sunday Leisure, the ecstatic mother of two could not hide her joy at giving birth to her second child.
“I am very happy to have another baby though I wanted a girl this time around. Anyway you cannot change what God has planned for you. I am happy with the child I have whether it’s boy or girl,” she said.
Sandra gave birth to her son last Friday morning at Bulawayo hospital.
“The baby was delivered at around 3am,” said Sandra.
She, however, said she was exhausted and would happily entertain interviews after taking a rest.
“The baby needs to rest and adjust to the world before pictures could be taken by the media, ” she said.
The baby is yet to be given a name. Sandra said she is planning to retire from the entertainment industry but could not give a reason why she wants to turn her back on showbiz. The raunchy dancer says she would announce her departure” from the showbiz industry in due course.
“I am retiring from the showbiz industry but I will only fill you in on those details when I am ready. All I can say is that I will hold two shows then that would be it for me,” she said.
Despite the fact that she was spotted at her kitchen tea party held at a local hotel getting down to Shakira’s song “Hips Don’t Lie”.
Her kitchen tea party was graced by celebrities who included the likes if Sarah Mpofu, Lorraine Maphala just to name a few, who showered her with a lot of gifts and gave her tips on maintaining a healthy marriage.
The dancing queen was scheduled to travel to South Africa with her group –Intombi Zomqangala- for a cultural festival but has had to cancel as she has just given birth. “I would have loved to go with them but when Mother Nature calls no one can avoid it. I wish them the best and I know that they will do the country proud,” Sandra said.
Sandra had her dream wedding at the Nesbit Castle earlier this year with her long-time boyfriend Nkanyiso Sibindi who was in the United Kingdom. She made a name for her herself with her hit song “Mama” in 2003, which became everyone’s favorite and rocked the airwaves.
Ndebele-Sibindi relocated to Harare and stayed in the capital for three years before returning to Bulawayo to start a business at Amakhosi Culture Centre. Her career dates back to her school days at Mpopoma High School where she received numerous awards for public speaking, poetry, dancing and music. Nothing could stop Sandra from doing what she wanted and she had to go against her parents’ wishes and embarked on a musical career, as part of the group Iyasa. – The Herald/Chronicle
