QUEEN of dance Sandra Ndebele-Sibindi has been added onto the Big Nuz Zerophobia concert line up. The concert, scheduled for the Large City Hall on Saturday, will see Ndebele and the Durbanites performing with Linx Kariloss, Streetbiz, Wandaful, Keda Kwaito Star and DJ Norma that Girl.
Organisers of the show, Zero One One said they roped in Ndebele-Sibindi as she is part of their campaign condemning xenophobia.
“We asked Sandra to be part of the show because it’s all about uniting artistes against xenophobic violence”, Zero One One chief executive officer Sammy Washington Washaya said.
He said Big Nuz would first perform in Beitbridge at Pagoma Cafe before proceeding to Bulawayo.
“The trio, Danger, Mashesha and Mampintsha are all raring to go. They’ll land in Bulawayo on Friday afternoon for a press conference before they travel by road to Beitbridge for a show.
“They’ll then travel back to Bulawayo on Saturday for the show at Large City Hall,” said Washaya.
He said they had beefed up security in order to maintain order during the concert.
The gig is a makeup show after Big Nuz cancelled their show last month due to violent attacks in South Africa where several foreigners were killed and thousands displaced. They cancelled the show to concentrate on raising awareness on denouncing xenophobic violence in their home city Durban and were part of a march held to denounce violence there.
