Seasoned multi-award-winning musician Sandra “Sandy” Ndebele has revealed that she lost a significant portion of her music catalogue after her official YouTube account was hacked in 2023.
Among the songs affected is her signature hit, Malaika, which propelled her to stardom and became one of the most celebrated tracks in her career.

In a statement, Sandy said the music “cannot be recovered” as she can’t regain access to the hacked account despite numerous efforts.

“Sanditainment would like to inform all our fans and supporters that our official Sandra Ndebele YouTube account was unfortunately hacked in 2023. We made every effort to recover the channel, but despite our best attempts, we were unable to regain access.

“As a result, we lost some of our biggest songs, including Malaika, Into Yami, Guva Rangu and Nomalanga, which had each accumulated more than five million views. We also lost other popular hits with over one million views, such as Lizwile featuring Professor, Ingoma featuring Mzoe 7, Jive and many more,” said Sandy.

However, the musician offered hope to her fans, announcing that she has successfully launched a new YouTube channel, Sanditainment, where she will re-upload her music and other content, giving fans access once again to some of her timeless classics.

“We are pleased to announce that we have opened a new YouTube channel called Sanditainment, where we will be re-uploading our music and other content. We kindly ask all our fans to subscribe, share and continue supporting us as we rebuild our digital presence,” she said.
