TOURISM operators in Manicaland are rejoicing over a significant surge in business, courtesy of the upcoming Sanganai World Tourism Expo.
The event, scheduled to take place from September 10 to 12 in Mutare, has already revitalized the tourism landscape in the Eastern Highlands, particularly in Nyanga, Juliasdale, and surrounding areas.
Industry players are optimistic that this momentum will persist beyond the event itself. The expo has generated increased bookings, international inquiries, and renewed interest in the region’s tourism offerings, marking a welcome shift for a sector still recovering from the pandemic and economic slowdown.
Tamarind Holiday and Conference Resort general manager, Ms Takudzwa Mukwama said the expo provides a valuable opportunity to reposition Nyanga as a premier destination.
“It is a rare chance to showcase our natural beauty and facilities to international buyers, media, and tour operators,” she said.
Mountain Lake Resort general manager Keara Shumba said: “Since the expo’s announcement, we have seen incredible feedback. Buyers from across the region are taking notice. It is exciting to see this part of Zimbabwe finally receiving the attention it deserves.”
