THE Eastern Highlands has come alive with a fresh wave of excitement and activity as local and international tourists flock to the scenic province ahead of the Sanganai World Tourism Expo.
Nyanga, and Honde Valley are buzzing with visitors eager to explore their breathtaking landscapes, cultural heritage, and adventure experiences.
From the misty peaks of Nyanga Mountain to the soothing sounds of Nyangombe and Nyamuziwa Falls, the province has become a hive of tourism activity.
Most lodges, hotels, and BnBs in Nyanga, Mutasa and Vumba are fully booked as travellers, including global buyers and exhibitors, arrive for the expo set for Mutare on Wednesday.
Many tourists have taken time to immerse themselves in nature through hiking, birdwatching, sightseeing, and cultural tours. The atmosphere is vibrant, with tour guides, families, and solo adventurers all soaking in the unique charm of the Eastern Highlands.
Among the tourists is Gugulethu Nyashanu from the United Kingdom, who brought her family to Mutasa and Nyanga for the first time.
“I wanted my family to see the real beauty of Zimbabwe. Nyanga is magical. We have visited several places the falls, and they cannot stop talking about it. It’s been the perfect bonding getaway,” she said.
