Santorum rallies conservatives to beat Barack Obama

primary before conceding to frontrunner Mitt Romney, said he aims to have a million people join “Patriot Voices.”
“Our mission is clear: fight to protect faith family, freedom and opportunity in America,” he said in a video accompanying the launch.
“On the top of that list of course is defeating Barack Obama and taking back the White House.”
Santorum did not mention Romney’s name in the video, a press release, an e-mail to supporters or an address to the Conservative Political Action Committee in Chicago Friday.
Santorum — who is seen to be laying the groundwork for another bid for the Republican nomination in 2016 — said that he still believes “this is the most important election in the history of our country.”
“While (President) Ronald Reagan went through a difficult time and we had big challenges, we have even bigger challenges now,” Santorum told the conservative group.
“We’re engaged in an ideological war here in America. We have a president who is leading that charge and is a committed advocate of transforming America at its very foundation.”
During the primary campaign, Santorum’s pro-life, marriage-only-between-a-man-and-a-woman and anti-contraception message gained traction with heartland evangelicals deeply skeptical of Romney, whom they view as a moderate disguised in conservative clothing. — AFP.
