BLACK RHINOS coach Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera and his MWOS counterpart, Lloyd “Samaita” Mutasa have been fined US$2000 each and reprimanded for ugly scenes during the teams’ Northern Region Soccer League clash at Heart Stadium B Arena early this month.
The match ended 0-0 but there were ugly scenes on the touchline, especially when Black Rhinos felt they deserved a penalty while the referee waved away appeals.
Saruchera and Mutasa have been told to keep their emotions in check during NRSL matches, operate from designated technical areas, accept match officials’ decisions without displaying inappropriate emotions, conduct themselves with decorum, avoid inciting fans and exercise self-control always.
The coaches were warned that future incidents will be met with stiffer penalties.
Meanwhile, leaders Black Rhinos will be using One Commando Barracks as their home venue for the remainder of the season starting this afternoon against PAM FC.
The venue has undergone an upgrade and was this week approved to resume hosting matches after almost eight years.
It was last used in 2016.
MWOS will be at home to Ngezi Under-19 at Ngoni this afternoon in a tricky game for the former leaders who are desperate to end a winless run after successive draws against Black Rhinos and Scottland.
Fourth-placed Scottland will start as favourites at home to Banket United at Rufaro this afternoon as three of the top four teams are in action today.
Third-placed Harare City are away to Golden Eagles tomorrow.
