Satanism scare at school

Angry parents recently ejected the headmaster of Kushinga Primary School in Odzi whom they accused of working in cahoots with a teacher arrested for drawing blood from pupils.

The headmaster, Mr Lloyd Kagurabadza, and his family were frog-marched from the school by the parents and left a kilometre away. They were ordered not to set foot at the school again.

The police had to restrain the angry mob.

The parents called on the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education to transfer Mr Kagurabadza.

Gaynor Mudimu (32) is said to have taken blood samples from two Grade One pupils and tried to buy their silence with a biscuit each.

Mudimu has since appeared before Mutare Provincial Magistrate, Mr Langton Carter, for contravening Section 19 (1) (a) of the Anatomical Donations and Post-Mortem Examinations Act, Chapter 15:01.

She, however, denied the charges, saying she only took the blood samples from the two children to conduct malaria tests.

“Your Worship, I was only testing the blood for malaria. I had no other intentions. l needed to test them for malaria as the children looked sickly,” said Mudimu.

Despite her arguments, Mudimu was remanded in custody.

On September 5, around 6pm, Mudimu allegedly invited an eight-year-old learner to her house and drew blood samples from the minor’s finger.

“Mudimu used a clinical syringe to draw blood from the minor’s left thumb. After collecting the blood samples, she gave the minor a loose biscuit and asked her to go home,” said Mr Mubvumbi.

“However, when the minor got home, she told her parents about what had happened. The minor’s parents reported the matter to the school’s deputy head, Mrs Estella Manjeese, before the matter was referred to the police,” added Mr Mubvumbi.

On September 6, Mudimu is alleged to have asked her Grade One pupils to undergo a malaria test.

One of the learners agreed to this and Mudimu left the classroom with her and headed to her house.

She drew blood from the minor’s finger and gave her a loose biscuit as payment for the procedure.

The blood samples and the syringes were not recovered. Police investigations are underway.

Ministry officials have since visited the school, which is located in Rashipango Village under Chief Marange, to conduct investigations. They interviewed learners from Mudimu’s class to ascertain whether more children were subjected to the same treatment.

Mr Kagurabadza was absent and Mrs Manjeese was acting in his capacity.

In an interview, Ms Janet Kamudyariwa, an aunt of one of the victims, said she suspects Satanism was at play.

“When the police came to pick up the teacher, she failed to produce the blood samples. She says she misplaced them. We suspect she sold or drank the blood.

“We strongly believe she was working in cahoots with Mr Kagurabadza because he brushed us off when we reported the incidents to him, saying it was a personal matter,” she said.

“After we continued probing him, he called for a meeting with the parents. However, the meeting never materialised as the headmaster kept giving flimsy excuses.

“This irked us, prompting us to take the matter into our own hands. We no longer want him here. He came here last year at almost the same time as Mudimu. We suspect they already knew each other before their transfer here,” said Ms Kamudyariwa.

The other victim’s mother, Ms Beauty Madzitire, who is also a teacher at the school, said she was in Mutare when the incident happened.

“My daughter was here with my sister. I hear when Mudimu took the first blood samples from my daughter, she told her that she had little blood in her body.

Mudimu allegedly asked my daughter to watch her as she took a bath so that she could draw more blood from her.

“If, indeed, she was testing her for malaria, why did she have to watch her teacher taking a bath? My daughter is recovering from the trauma. The whole thing was just too much for her,” said Ms Madzitire. — Manica Post

Man accidentally cuts

off his manhood

A 47-year-old Ghanaian man identified as Kofi Attanown was taken to hospital for surgery after accidentally cutting off part of his manhood while he was asleep.

Attanown reportedly dozed off in an armchair. As he was dreaming, he went on to pick up a knife and cut his private parts.

In the dream, he called his neighbours, who rushed to his house and found him alone, covered in blood.

Attanown then stood up, and felt a sharp pain in his genital area.

He was taken to St Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu, where it finally dawned on him that he had, in fact, chopped his manhood, not meat.

“In my sleep, I dreamt I was cutting some meat that was in front of me. I don’t remember how I picked up the knife. I’m confused,” he said.

His wife, Adwoa Konadu, revealed that this was not the first time Attanown had acted in such a manner.

She said he frequently moves about, converses and occasionally fights while he is asleep.

Black lady turned

into white

A prophet left the community shocked after he claimed to have changed a woman of Mbabala in Choma, Zambia, from black to white.

Mbabala residents were speechless when Suzanna Hamalijikila, who was born black, became white after praying with Prophet Hebert for 24 days.

Relatives have since refused to welcome Hamalijikila, and there is tension in the family over the matter.

A source said the “new woman” resembles Hamalijikila in many respects, including the voice and accent.
