balls for the remainder of the season.
Black Rhinos players have already started to enjoy the benefits after their win in last week’s game against Jumbo Giants, which was covered by the package.
Speaking at the ceremony, guest of honour, Ronny Mutizhe, said he was happy with the association between Savanna Tobacco Company and Black Rhinos.
“We are happy to be gathered here for another sponsorship package by our proud sponsor Savanna Tobacco Company.
“We are happy that they have stood by us through and through and we thank them for their support.
“Black Rhinos is a team of committed players and we promise to fight all the way until we gain promotion to the Premier League.
“The team is full of resilient and determined players who I believe will do the job for us,” Mutizhe said.
Savanna Tobacco Company executive chairman, Adam Molai, saluted the relationship between his company and Rhinos.
“The relationship between Savanna Tobacco and Black Rhinos FC did not start today but it goes a long way back to 2006.
“Allow me to take you through our journey as Savanna Tobacco with Black Rhinos FC. We provided soccer kits in 2006 to the Club which carried the Branson brand — one of our popular cigarette variants as well as soccer balls.
“Another kit was provided in 2007, a period we all know was not rosy economically and it was difficult for many manufacturing companies in Zimbabwe to survive, but Savanna places tremendous importance on its dedication towards providing pleasure to our customers.
“In spite of the then prevailing economic difficulties, we chose to stay true to our relationship with Black Rhinos as we have always believed in the Club. In 2009, 2011 and for the 1st half of the 2012 season we gave Black Rhinos a home kit and we saw it fit to enhance this partnership in the last half of the season by announcing this new addition to the sponsorship. We are proud to be associated with such a resilient Club which has shown great determination throughout the years.
“It’s not easy to taste the glory of the Premier Soccer league ladies and gentleman and to play in Division One but Black Rhinos has shown that it is a force to reckon with.
“In 2011 the Club missed narrowly by two points and I understand its currently leading in Division One,” said Molai. He said his company, which is running the popular Zora Butter nePacific project which provides free transport to fans for Dynamos’ home games, was a true friend of football.
“We have been involved in soccer for the past six years through sponsorship of Clubs in the Premier Soccer League as well as Division One.
“We have not limited ourselves to well-known renowned clubs but have sponsored soccer tournaments across the country and at grass roots level as we know this game is a unifier of everyone from all walks of life,” Molai said.
