ROUTINE maintenance works are scheduled to be carried out for two days starting tomorrow (Wednesday) at Odzani Water Treatment Plant, the city of Mutare’s primary water supply facility to maintain the infrastructure and enhance the facility’s efficiency.

City of Mutare spokesperson Mr Charles Sadondo said the scheduled works are part of the local authority’s servicing of the facility at regular intervals.

“We will be carrying out scheduled routine maintenance at Odzani Water Treatment Works tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4 to keep the facility in good working condition and prevent unexpected breakdowns,” said Mr Sadondo.

He said the city will likely experience subdued water supply during the exercise.

“Normal water supply is expected to be restored after 48 hours. Water bowsers will be provided to complement supply in the city,” he added.

Mr Sadondo urged residents to use water sparingly during the maintenance works util normal supply is restored.
