Midlands State University student Shingirai Maunganidze popularly known as Schingy’s song “Hustle On” has topped charts on Power FM radio station.
The gospel track which talks about how youths should continue to pursue and live their dream, dominated at The Overdose gospel charts on Number One.Surprisingly, the song was nominated as the future song on another radio station ZiFM. In an interview with Cool Lifestyle, Schingy said he was happy as he was living his dream.
“That was my desire and dream to be the greatest when it comes to music. As youths, sometimes some parents think music is for fun, but we are here to educate and entertain everyone”, he said. The youthful musician who two months ago received airplay on Channel O for his video on the same song said he is now working on the second album.
“I have major deals with some companies and all I can say to my fans is watch this space. I am working on my next album called ‘MaRatchets’, which will see some local top renowned rappers collaborating with me”, he said.
The album will be out on September 11.
“If all goes well, I am planning to release the album together with a video of which I am working with South African video choreographer Mule Khumalo who has worked with some prominent artistes in that country”, he said.
Schingy said the sky is the limit for him.
“I have my principles, music is my passion just like my SWAG, it’s in the blood. I am here to stay. You will all going to see me scooping the hip-hop awards not only locally but globally”, he said
The rapper has been nicknamed “Prince of Swag- Murimi weRapper”, because of his music and fashion sense.
The singer recently tweeted to his fans encouraging them to vote for his song on all radio station.
“I’m ON 1 and it’s you who make me the superstar you want to see. SWAGREPRESENTING”.
Schingy has performed at many corporate functions and earlier this year he donated autographed t-shirts to his fans and is continuing with his community projects.
“Last week, I was at an orphanage singing together with children. I have a heart for little children,” he said. —CL Reporter.
