for the environmental club.
He would allegedly receipt the money and stamp the receipts using a stamp inscribed “New Design Hardware and Electrical”.
Akino was yesterday brought at Harare Magistrates’ Court charged with fraud.
He was not asked to plead to the charges when he appeared before Mr Don Ndirowei.
He was granted US$100 bail and asked to return to court on June 11.
Akino was ordered not to interfere with witnesses and to continue residing at his given address.
Prosecutor Ms Elaine Mokora alleges that between April and May this year at Groombridge Primary School in Mount Pleasant, Akino misrepresented to parents who wanted to secure places for their children that the school had an environmental club.
He allegedly told parents who wanted places to donate some hoes or to pay US$15, which was the price for each hoe.
Akino, it is alleged, receipted the money he collected from parents in his own receipt book not known to the school.
He would stamp the receipts he issued using a stamp inscripted “New Design Hardware and Electrical”.
The State says he received money from several parents and collected a total of US$2 115 which he converted it to his own use.
Upon his arrest police recovered the receipt book and the stamp in question.
