BULAWAYO Superbike professional racer Tim Schultz, who was last month injured and admitted to the intensive care unit at Mater Dei Hospital after his motorbike accident at the Victoria Falls Circuit, is expected back in action next year.
Schultz is in South Africa receiving treatment.
This was confirmed by Bulawayo Motoring Club vice chairman Zane Shah on the eve of today’s sound off and spin contest at Victoria Falls Circuit.
“Schultz is recovering very well and expected to be racing again next season,” said Shah yesterday.
Schultz was injured when he crashed out on turn eight of the circuit and was injured when he came off the bike which resulted in his lung puncturing and sustaining five broken ribs, a cracked shoulder and bruises.
Meanwhile, Bulawayo motor racing fanatics are set for fun-filled motor racing action at the Victoria Falls Circuit at this year’s edition of the Burnout and Sound off event today.
Shah said top South African spin and stunt drivers will be showcasing their driving skills today.
“Showcasing their skills today are some of South Africa’s top spinners and stunt masters,” said Shah.
He invited people to come and support the last sound off competition of the year, which is an open event.
“The sound off competition is open to everyone with a good sound system and classes to enter will be from eight inch subwoofers to 15 inches going upwards,” he said.
