SCORES of St Mary’s residents converged at Two Stars Night Club yesterday during indications at the crime scene by a man, accused of stabbing a patron to death.
Kelvin Mutyirwei had a misunderstanding with Timothy Majaji, which generated an altercation.
They reportedly pushed and shoved each other before Timothy drew a knife and stabbed Kelvin.
Kelvin sustained a deep cut on his pelvis.
An unidentified female patron rushed to inform Kelvin’s friend, Nigel Matambo, of the stabbing.
“One well-wisher helped us with transport to rush Kelvin to Chitungwiza Central Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
“The culprit has since been arrested and he was taken for indications,” said Nigel.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said Timothy will appear in court soon.
“Circumstances were that on Sunday at around 2.40am, the now deceased and his friend were among patrons at Stars Night Club, Huruyadzo Shopping Centre, in Chitungwiza.
“The now deceased had a misunderstanding with another patron over an unknown issue.
“They are reported to have exchanged some words before the accused person stabbed the now deceased.
“The body is at Chitungwiza Central Hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem and investigations are in progress,” said Insp Chakanza.
