Scores of athletes from across the country have turned up for the Vice President Kembo Mohadi half marathon being held along the Beitbridge to Bulawayo Highway.

The Run for Hope Marathon is being held to promote a healthy culture and to raise awareness on drug and substance abuse.

The run is a precursor to the commissioning of the rehabilitated Mtetengwe Primary School, in Ward 7, which is VP Mohadi’s home village.

There will also be free medical screening and training of villagers on basic first aid skills by Discovery Ambulances.

The races include 21km, 10km, 5km, and 3km.

All the races are starting and ending at Mtetengwe Primary School.
