NORTHERN Region Soccer League title aspirants Scottland have once again shown their magnetism after elbowing out Premiership giants Highlanders to land former Warriors’ defender Jimmy Dzingai.
The latter was on the verge of signing for Bosso where he was set to reunite with coach Kelvin Kaindu, who he once worked with at Zambian side Nkana.
But the player has been prized away by William Nyasulu’s charges who have taken the ex-Yadah man on board.
Dzingai will, however, not be ready for action for the upcoming Scottland fixture against log leaders Black Rhinos at Rufaro on Friday.
The veteran defender, who featured for the Warriors at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt is expected to be available for the two sides’ reverse fixture at Heart Stadium in two weeks.
The veteran defender told Zimpapers Sports that he will be at Scottland for the remainder of the season.
“I am happy to be joining a club with so much ambition and I am sure we will achieve a lot of things together,” said Dzingai.
“I am keen to revive my career at Scottland and help them win promotion into the Premiership.
“Competition in the NRSL is very stiff but I see something special at Scottland.
“I am sure we will be able to pull through. There are a lot of talented and determined youngsters and an equally good pack of veterans. That makes the team complete and I am very hopeful of the prospects.”
Dzingai will join an array of other veterans like Lincoln Zvasiya, Denver Mukamba, goalkeeper Panashe Nyabunga, and Godknows Mangani at the team that is also very active in the market right now.
The team, owned by businessman and Mabvuku/Tafara legislator Scott Sakupwanya, is busy on the market, taking on board profiled players who they hope to help them cross over to the top-flight at the end of the marathon.
Dynamos twins Kevin and Elvis Moyo are understood to be heading to the Division One side while King Nadolo, Victor Kamhuka, and Takunda Sadiki have all boarded the ship.
