INFLUENTIAL Dynamos midfield pair, Tanaka Shandirwa and Donald Mudadi have dismissed rumours linking them with a move from the troubled club during the on-going mid-season transfer window.
Instead, the duo has committed their immediate future at Dynamos and are now focussing on being selected to feature in Sunday’s blockbuster Castle Lager Premier Soccer League showdown against rivals Highlanders at Rufaro on Sunday.
Mudadi is back at the club after returning from national duty with the Warriors squad in Port Elizabeth, South Africa for the 2024 COSAFA Cup tournament.
Both were among the striking Dynamos players who have been boycotting the club’s training sessions over outstanding winning bonuses.
Shandirwa was recently seen training with Yadah Stars, a move that had heightened speculation that he was on the verge of rejoining the Miracle Boys.
He was loaned to Dynamos by Yadah last season and the deal is expected to run out at the end of the season.
Mudadi had been linked with a mid-season move to Premiership returnees TelOne who are coached by former Dynamos gaffer Herbert Maruwa.
Maruwa is the one who also lured Mudadi to Dynamos from the relegated Harare City.
They had previously also worked together at Black Rhinos.
Mudadi dismissed as pub talk, claims that TelOne had bought him a house as part of the package to join the Gweru outfit.
Shandirwa claimed there was some misinterpretation by some fans, that emanated from having been spotted wearing Yadah’s training kit instead of that for the Glamour Boys.
“I missed a lot of games due to an ankle injury which I sustained towards the break and I’m still battling to be fitter that’s why I’m using every opportunity that I get to push myself.
“Yadah officials know what to do if they want me back before the transfer window closes but from what I have seen, they want me to continue with Dynamos, they are happy for me that I’m playing at one of the biggest clubs in the country.
“Nothing is going to change and I’m here to help Dynamos achieve their goals and I’m not going anywhere,” said Shandirwa.
Mudadi also reiterated his desire to remain at DeMbare.
“I’m committed to Dynamos and I’m surprised with the news that I want to join TelOne,” Mudadi said.
“They are a good side but at the moment I have a running contract with Dynamos, which must be respected.
“I’m more concerned about improving my contributions to the team, and I just hope that our fortunes will change after the break because we need to turn the corner our fans have endured a lot and as players, we need to do more.
“I want to thank all the Dynamos fans who have been supportive in our darkest hour, I also want to assure them that I’m not leaving and they should expect more from me in the coming fixtures,” said Mudadi.
Mudadi is still to reach his peak form at Dynamos this season, recording just a goal.
Last season he finished as the club’s joint-leading goal scorer with Elton Chikona as they grabbed five each.
