Scottland FC table R4.1m bid for Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile

Ambitious Zimbabwean champions Scottland FC are plotting a massive transfer coup to secure the signature of Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile, it has been established.

The Harare-based outfit are aggressively assembling a star-studded squad ahead of their maiden CAF Champions League campaign for the 2026/27 edition. They have already landed Malawian international defender Nickson Nyasulu from FC Platinum.

This publication can reveal that focus has now aggressively shifted to Shalulile, who has notably struggled for regular game time at Chloorkop under head coach Miguel Cardoso.

During the recent Betway Premiership campaign, the 32-year-old made just 13 league appearances, netting three goals. Across all competitions, the Namibian international featured 23 times and registered six goals.

In domestic league action, Shalulile was named in the matchday squad 17 times—starting just seven games, coming off the bench on six occasions, and remaining an unused substitute four times. Despite his extensive experience, the lethal marksman fell behind Iqraam Rayners and Arthur Sales in Cardoso’s tactical pecking order.

Shalulile’s current contract with Mamelodi Sundowns officially expires at the end of June, leaving him free to negotiate his next move. Despite his reduced game time, the forward remains the PSL era’s all-time top goalscorer across all competitions with over 130 goals, having previously surpassed Siyabonga Nomvethe’s legendary record of 129 strikes.

WHAT SCOTTLAND FC HAS OFFERED PETER SHALULILE

Although Shalulile will become a free agent in a matter of days, Scottland FC are enticing the veteran with a stunning R4.1 million [$250,000 USD] signing-on package to lure him to Zimbabwe in July.

While his potential monthly salary remains undisclosed, the club’s leadership is prepared to go all out. The Zimbabwean mid-season transfer window runs from July 1 to July 31, and Shalulile has been earmarked as the marquee signing to lead their continental charge.

However, the Zimbabwean champions face stiff competition. Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Qadsiah and several unnamed Middle Eastern clubs are also circling the clinical forward.

INSIDE SCOTTLAND FC’S R4.1 MILLION OFFER

Should Shalulile opt for a move to Harare, he will link up with fellow countryman Moses Shidolo, who is already a key figure at Scottland FC.

The club’s rise in Southern African football has been meteoric. Ahead of their continental adventure, the 2025 Zimbabwean champions are scheduled to face Kaizer Chiefs in the 2026 Toyota Cup at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenburg on July 26.

Now in its third edition, the high-profile pre-season tournament previously saw Amakhosi host Tanzanian giants Young Africans in 2024 and Ghanaian powerhouse Asante Kotoko in 2025.- FARPOST
