South African Amapiano superstar Scotts Maphuma of the Ngibolekeni fame is set to ignite Gwanda tomorrow as he headlines a high-energy gig at a popular entertainment joint in the mining town.
Maphuma will share the stage with multi-award-winning artiste Mzoe 7, Emaweni hitmaker Bhila, Zagoe Radge, Khoi Khoi and Kadder. The event will be hosted by MC Little and Rich Flavour, while DJs Keitho, Virus, Skot Mangena, Oskiz, Mbobster and Flexxy are expected to keep revellers on their feet with back-to-back sets.
Patrice Manyathela, Maphuma’s road manager, confirmed that the artiste is geared up for his Gwanda debut.
“Maphuma is ready to rock Gwanda. We’ll land at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airport at 2pm on Saturday before travelling by road to the venue. Despite having performed in other parts of the country, this will be Maphuma’s first appearance in Gwanda and he’s looking forward to a great time with his fans,” said Manyathela.
Event organiser DJ Keitho said the show is part of efforts to spark the festive mood in Gwanda, with more international acts expected to follow.
“The festive season is upon us and people want to celebrate life with family and friends. To set the tone, we decided to bring Maphuma to Gwanda because he commands a massive following in the town. Everything is in place,” said DJ Keitho.
