ZIMBABWEAN professional golfer, Scott Vincent, finished fourth at the LIV Golf Mexico at the weekend and took home a cool US$1million.
The tournament, played at the Club de Golf Chapultepec, was won by Jon Rahm, who helped his Legion XIII team to a win as well.
Vincent finished on 12-under overall to finish in fourth place.
Representing HyFlyers team, Vincent’s team also featured Phil Mickelson, a Major winner, Michael La Sasso, Branden steel and Cameron Tringale.
They finished fifth in the tournament.
Rahm, The Legion XIII captain, closed with a dominant seven-under 64, finishing at 21-under-par to secure a commanding six-shot victory.
Rahm delivered four rounds in the 60s and steadily pulled away from the field.
Paired in the final group with teammate Tyrrell Hatton — the first time the Ryder Cup duo had shared a final group on LIV Golf — Rahm quickly took control and never looked back.
Meanwhile, Tawana Mangoma was crowned Mashonaland East Amateur golf champion at Marondera Golf Club at the weekend.
Mangoma, who finished tied on even par with Munyardzi Sithole, managed to win the play-off.
Rounds of 72, 68 and 76 saw Mangoma forcing a play-off with Sithole, who had rounds 71, 72 and 73.
Munesu Chimhini was third on one-over-par while T. Ellis was fourth on two-over. Tadisa Katoma, Shepard Chiwaya and M, Bolas were tied in fifth place on four over-par.
