AMBITIOUS Division One side Scottland FC are set to shock the transfer market by signing a former Ghanaian youth international, who had a stint in Turkey, and the Premiership’s leading goal-scorer.

The Mabvuku side are on the brink of signing Patmos Arhin, a 23-year-old winger who was part of the Ghanaian team at the 2017 African Under-17 Cup of Nations.

Scottland are also in prime position to secure the services of Evans Katema, the man who leads the PSL Golden Boot race with eight goals, in what will be a huge statement of intent.

It will also be a huge victory for the Division One sides who are now challenging their top-flight league counterparts when it comes to what is being paid to the players and coaches.

Should Katema move from Bikita Minerals to Scottland FC this month, it will be a massive moral victory for Division One football over their PSL counterparts.

“Scottland are flexing their muscles during this transfer window and they are planning to do things in a very big way when it comes to the additions to their squad,” said a source.

“The club feel Evans will provide the goals they need to get them promotion into the PSL.

“Normally, we have players leaving Division One for the PSL clubs but these guys want to change all that and they feel that getting Katema will be a huge statement of intent.

“Scottland are also finalising the deal to get King Nadolo from Yadah FC, who are effectively their sister club, which will also be another case of a player leaving the PSL for Division One.

“They can only register five new players but I can tell you that if they had the slots, let’s say 15 slots, you would have seen a buying spree like something which Shooting Stars did

“The only difference is that Scottland are a Division One side and Shooting Stars were a PSL team.”

Scottland have also spread their catchment area to include the whole continent and bringing in Arhin will be a big achievement for them.

In July 2018, Arhin secured a contract with Turkish side Boluspor Kulubu, after impressing on trials, when he was only 17.

But, after playing for the youth teams of Boluspor and Ankaragucu, Arhin disappeared from the scene and it has been difficult to trace the path of his development.

Some sources said he suffered a nasty injury, which affected his progress, but he is now back to full fitness.

Whatever the case, what can’t be denied is that the Scottish boys want to shake the domestic football scene in a very big way.
