Planning and Investment Promotion Ministry Dr Desire Mutize Sibanda said Mr Tarr dedicated most of his life as a missionary in Zimbabwe and played an important role in promoting Adventist Christian education in Zimbabwe.
“He worked hard to promote the principles of Christian education in the country. He will always be remembered for his tremendous contribution in promoting the education that educates the heart, hand and the head,” he said.
Dr Sibanda who is also a Seventh Day Adventist said those who worked with Mr Tarr would always remember his commitment to God’s work and spreading the gospel through education.
He said Mr Tarr was exemplary and worked well with people of all races.
“We have lost an advisor, a compassionate father, an educationist, an elder in the church who dedicated most of his time to educate humanity. He was one of the few whites who were extremely fluent in both Shona and Ndebele. He worked well with his community,” Dr Sibanda said.
Tarr was born at Solusi and worked in Bulawayo, Gweru and Nyazura in various capacities in the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
