Residents could not hide their pain after receiving news that the dynamic town clerk who had managed to do in four months what other successive administrations had failed to do over the years had died.

“It is painful to realise that just when we had found someone who had a clear vision for the development of the town he dies at such an early stage,” said resident Mr James Taruona.

Under his watchful eye, areas that last had water a long time ago had started receiving water soon after he took over.
He became popular after re-installing street lights after years of neglect, while for some it was the synergies that saw Chinhoyi University of Technology developing and installing a solar powered traffic light.
Within a month of taking charge at Chinhoyi municipality, workers who were not being paid started getting their salaries.
