THE Kart Sport Club is set to host its second race meeting of the 2026 season at their home track within the National Sports Stadium this Sunday, with what promises to be an exciting day of competitive kart racing at the Pole Position Karts circuit

Following a strong start to the year, the club continues to demonstrate impressive growth, attracting both seasoned drivers and a new generation of racing talent. One of the standout features of this upcoming meeting is the strength of the grids across multiple categories.

Entries have surged compared to previous seasons, with full and highly competitive fields expected in Kid Rok, Mini Rok and the Rotax 125 classes.

This rise in participation reflects the club’s increasing popularity and the accessibility of karting as a grassroots motorsport as well as an amazing outdoor hobby. Spectators can look forward to close, wheel-to-wheel racing throughout the day. With evenly matched drivers, the stage is set for intense battles across all four heats.

Early-season rivalries are already beginning to form, adding an extra layer of excitement as competitors fight for championship points and bragging rights. In the Kid Rok class, for drivers from only 6 years old, Ragnar Mudzimba threw down the gauntlet at the first meeting, with a dominant performance of four wins and is showing serious determination to win once again.

Jake Edwards will be chasing hard and newcomers Peityn Edwards, Oneil Shamu and Chengye Song are all keen to show their improvement with their young competitive spirits.

In a field of emerging talent, the Mini ROK Class produced three different winners at the first round.

Among those to watch are Elroy Shamu, Engelbert Mudzimba and Rayyan Savania who will be keen to try and break into an early championship lead. They will be under serious pressure from Devin Van De Linde, Daniel Sadiqi, Wade Gleig and Oliver Broadway who will ensure racing will be fiercely contested.

Class rookies Teo Gresko and Tamuda Chimuti will be keen to build momentum on their second outing in this exciting class. The super-fast Rotax 125 Class is expected to provide high intensity racing that always has no shortage of drama.

An on-form Seth Rukato will be challenged all the way in a closely-contested pack including front runners Zaydaan and Yaseen Savania and Eli Pilosoff.

However, they will have no room to breathe with a competitive mid-pack of cousins Eshaan and Zayyan Savania and Sam Townsend ready to shake things up. Newcomers Zach Craft, August Moyo and Kufaro Chimuti put in tremendous performances at their first race meeting and are expected to start challenging the mid-pack very soon.

Club officials have expressed their enthusiasm at the steady growth seen over the past year. Investments in organisation, safety standards, infrastructure and promotion have contributed to a more professional and welcoming environment, encouraging newcomers to join while retaining experienced racers.

“The response from drivers and families has been incredibly positive,” club chairman Bobby Van De Linde noted. “The bigger grids, better racing, and a real sense of passion among participants and families is making for fantastic race-days.”
