MWOS midfielder Tinotenda “Diesel” Mutyambizi feels a runners-up slot in the championship race will be a fair reflection of the good work they have done in their maiden season in the PSL.
The Punters will host Triangle at Ngoni tomorrow.
Triangle surprised many when they effortlessly knocked out MWOS out of the Chibuku Super Cup with a 2-0 win at the same venue last weekend.
A huge section of the MWOS fans left the stadium before the final whistle as they expressed their disappointment.
Triangle had given priority to their remaining three Castle Lager Premiership assignments, which include their tomorrow’s visit to Ngoni.
Triangle’s future in PSL depends on this fixture, they have racked up 34 points in 31 assignments.
Genesis Mangombe’s men need at least five points in their final games to be on the safe side of the relegation battle.
MWOS are seven points behind leaders Scottland, who are on 62 points, and a point off second-placed Simba Bhora.
The Norton-based side have a better chance of finishing second should they shrug off their Chibuku Super Cup hangover and get the better of the Sugar Boys.
Champions Simba Bhora are enduring a terrible run which has seen them registering just one win in their last seven games.
Mutyambizi has been one of MWOS’ key figures in their PSL debut season, playing a huge role at the heart of their midfield.
He told H-Metro that they have set their eyes on winning at least two of their last three games.
“It was a huge blow for the team when we crashed out of the Chibuku Super Cup, as players we should have done better but it’s unfortunate that it wasn’t our day.
“We have now shifted our focus to the league match against the same team that gave us sleepless nights and we have to win the match for our fans.
“We really disappointed our fans but I believe we have a great chance of finishing second in the league and it’s something very possible,” said Mutyambizi.
