Sections of city roads closed

SOME sections of roads bordering the Harare Civic Centre, the venue of zanu-pf’s 6th National People’s Congress will be closed to vehicular traffic starting today until the end of the event on Saturday.

In a statement yesterday, Harare City Council said this was done to facilitate easy movement of traffic.

No northwards bound traffic will be allowed along Bishop Gaul Avenue.

On Samora Machel and Rekai Tangewa avenues, no southwards-bound traffic will be allowed.

On Robert Mugabe Road and Rotten Row, no southwards-bound traffic will be allowed.

At least 12 000 delegates are expected to converge in Harare at the Harare Civic Centre for the crunch congress whose build-up has seen several party bigwigs fall by the wayside in Central Committee elections..
