A SECURITY guard has been dragged to court over maintenance by his former wife, who accused him of neglecting the welfare of their two minor children.

Nyasha Manwende was taken to the Harare Civil Court by his ex-wife, Jenna Mangei, who was claiming $70 000 for child support.

“I want $70 000 for me to take care of our two children.

“He is employed as a security guard and earns $109 000 per month and I want him to take care of his children.

“He re-married and has one other child,” she said.

Manwende offered to pay $50 000.

“Your Worship, I cannot pay that amount, but I am willing to give her $50 000 and I will pay school fees for the children,” he said.

Mangezi accepted the offer and magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini ordered Manwende to pay $50 000 plus school fees.
