SELMOR Mtukudzi is on cloud nine after being chosen to participate at the Africa Music Festival on August 26 in the UK.
Dubbed the Legends Tour, it will feature Thomas Mapfumo, Mambo Dhuterere and Jah Prayzah.
Speaking to H-Metro, Selmor was honoured to be the only woman among four men.
She said people must appreciate every talent, male or female, as they were all equal and capable of producing good music.
“For me it’s not about gender but about just being chosen among some of the wonderful artists we have in Zimbabwe.
“I hope we can get to a point where we just appreciate artistry without specifically differentiating things by gender, let’s just say ‘Selmor anogona zvaanoita, Jah Prayzer anogonawo zvaanoita futi,’” she said.
Selmor said she was ready to give her best performance will making sure that her father’s music lives on.
“They can expect to hear some of their favourite Tuku music and my own songs that they love. It’s a going to be a great night.
“I hope to interact with the fans and have a good time with them.
“We are already four different artists; everyone is good at what they do. I don’t need to do anything to be different, I already am,” she said.
