Zimbabwe Women Parliamentary Caucus chairperson and Deputy Minister of Macro-Economic Planning and Investment Promotion, Cde Monica Mutsvangwa is attending the 2015 Women In Parliament Mexico Summit which started on Wednesday and is ending today (Friday).

The summit which drew female Parliamentarians from all corners of the world discussed concrete steps for increasing the number of women in decision making positions.

The high-level panel discussions throughout the conference were reviewing the achievements of Governments and Parliamentarians around the world with regards to gender equality in politics.

It was however highlighted during the conference that since the first World Conference on Women in 1975, women’s rights have become an important political issue, but still many challenges remain, especially where women are still under-represented in political decision making.
