FOR the first time in seven years, OK Grand Challenge serial winner, Clement Muhle, and his family, have missed out on collecting a car prize at the country’s biggest retail promotion.
Muhle admits he is no longer among the favourites to win in the promotion.
He says he only entered the competition, through his four children, after technicalities hit the phone number he wanted to use to enter the promotion, which started in April.
Muhle told H-Metro that he only started two weeks before the closing day on Saturday.
“It was never my year,” he said.
“I can only try again next year and hope to win another car by God’s grace.
“This year, I entered the names and numbers of my four children.”
He says he will devise new plans to try and win the grand prize, which this year was a brand new Ford Ranger double cab vehicle.
In 2018, the family won their first three cars in the OK Grand Challenge while they also won a $50 000 cash prize in 2019.
To date, each of Muhle’s nine children have won a car in the promotion.
They won their 11th car, Nissan NP200, at last year’s event.
This year, the grand prize was won by Cuthbert Magora whose winning ticket came from OK Karoi in Mashonaland West.
Magora could not hide his elation after he was confirmed the winner live on national television.
OK Grand Challenge marketing director Stanley Meck thanked their suppliers and shoppers for the part they played in the promotion.
A total of 49 cars were dispersed while one car was donated to Bulawayo’s Emthunzini Wethemba Children’s Home as part of the OK Grand Challenge charity programme.
