The City of Harare has announced a temporary partial shutdown of Warren Control beginning Monday evening until 6pm on Wednesday to facilitate urgent repairs on a serious leak on a major water supply pipeline serving western parts of the capital.

In a notice, acting town clerk Advocate Warren Chiwawa said the shutdown had been necessitated by a serious leak on a trunk water pipeline and will allow council teams to carry out scouring and repair works.

“Dzivarasekwa, Maranatha, Mabelreign, Marlborough, Ashdown Park and Westgate will be affected,” he said.

Adv Chiwawa urged residents in the affected suburbs to use available water sparingly and make adequate preparations while repair works are underway.
