Dancehall and reggae artist Gilan “Micropile” Chidede said he has struck the right chord with his participation on a Jamaican riddim.
Tilted ‘Cookies and Cream’, the riddim was produced by Ras Blinga Records and Mc Dove Music.

Seven artists from Zimbabwe were featured on the riddim.
In an interview with H-Metro, Micropile said Ras Blinga Records approached him to be featured on their project.
“Being featured on a Jamaican riddim feels like an out-of-body experience – it’s a dream come true, to say the least.
“To be alongside artists I hold in high reverence and that have already made a mark in the industry is surreal and a testament to the hard work I’ve put in and the tenacity I’ve exhibited over the years.
“I’m really humbled and grateful for the recognition, and I’m not taking it for granted.
“We had a whole squad of 7 Zimbabwean artists featured on the Riddim, and we represented Zimbabwe to the fullest, and I’m so proud of the way we executed.
Initially, Ras Blinga Record reached out to me and presented the exciting opportunity to join the ‘Cookies and Cream’ riddim project!
“They tasked me with rounding up some talented Zimbabwean artists to join the party, and I knew just the right people to call.
“I linked up with the genius music producer, BigBoy Beats, who was also on board with the project, and together we went on a mission to find the perfect blend of artists to bring the riddim to life.
“After some careful scouting, we assembled an all-star team, and the rest, as they say, is history.”
The chanter said his lyrical composition, based on a fusion of English and Jamaican dialect of Patois, appears to have set him apart from his peers.
Micropile boasts of projects like ‘Ndooona Rudo’ being a highlight, having debuted on national television in 2022.
“I’m proud to boast a diverse portfolio of my projects with collaboration that stands out ‘My Life’, released in June, which features the talented Simbarashe Manyangadze (Lord Sy) who not only produced the beat but also featured on the track, bringing his unique style to the forefront.
“The song has received an overwhelmingly positive response on social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook TV, and I’m thrilled with its success.
“With a slew of upcoming projects in the pipeline such as my Afropop single ‘Chipakura’ set to drop soon, I’m eager to share my music with the world. Zimbabweans, get ready for the wave that’s coming – it’s going to be an exciting ride,” he said.
