A SEX-STARVED man has been arraigned before the Harare Civil Court after he threatened to kill his wife of 24 years after she refused to have unprotected sex.
Amos Dangare appeared before magistrate Judith Taruvinga after being dragged to court by his wife, Chenai Dangare.
Chenai told the court that Amos has been unfaithful, exposing her to sexually transmitted diseases.
She claims she was being harassed and was being abused physically and emotionally.
However, Amos claims his wife confessed to having an affair and this has affected his mental health.
Magistrate Judith Taruvinga granted a reciprocal peace order to both Chenai and Amos after hearing the couple’s submissions.
“My husband has multiple sexual partners and when I refused to engage in unprotected sex with him, he began threatening me with death and physically assaulting me,” Chenai said.
“I fear for my life and I believe he will eventually harm me if the court does not intervene.”
Amos claimed his wife was also unfaithful.
“She told me that she found another man who satisfies her more than I do.
“She also claims she has wasted 24 years of her life with me,” Amos said.
Magistrate Taruvinga advised the couple to maintain peace and find a way to resolve their differences.
