They want club president Greg Mataka and secretary Chenegtai Phiri to resign and they had their message screaming out from the placards they displayed after this match.
Shabanie Mine won, which is more important in the short term, and Luke Masomere could afford a smile.
“It was a sweet victory after going for two games without a win,” said the self-proclaimed doctor of football.
“We were playing very well and I want to avoid relegation.
“I am also worried about (Farai) Mususunye because his injury will be a big blow to us.”
There was a demonstration after the game when some fans burst into the VIP Enclosure demanding the resignation of Mataka and Phiri.
Masomere said he could not plunge into administrative issues.
“I think the noise needs an administrative man. I am a coach, I deal with players not issues of the executive,” said Masomere.
“I am just here to help them because I do not even have a contract with Shabanie Mine.”
The asbestos miners needed goals from Fungai Chirinda 4th minute and a penalty from the exciting Valentine Ndaba in the 79th minute to seal their victory.
The victory came at a cost as forceful striker Farai Mususunye was stretchered off the pitch when he came off the worst, in a clash, and had to be rushed to hospital.
Shabanie got their opener when Chirinda reacted quickest, to a pass from Caleb Masocha, shook off his marker and fired home a beauty.
“It was my moment of brilliance. I looked up, the moment I got the ball, and thought of placing the ball to the far post,” said Chirinda.
“We are working hard and we will fight until the end.”
Tarisai Rukanda, who gave the Rhinos’ defenders a tough time, was brought down for the penalty and Ndaba converted to seal the win.
Rhinos coach, Arthur Tutani, who won his first game in charge after replacing his boss, Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera, has quickly found out that life in the host seat isn’t as easy as he imagined.
“It happens in football and Shabanie did their homework correctly. We had a game on Saturday, trained on Sunday before travelling on Monday and our preparations were not good enough,” said Tutani.
“I would like to congratulate Shabanie for playing well.”
